Steeda's Watts Link Is Finally Here!

Many of our customers have been awaiting the Steeda Watts Linkage with much anticipation. Well the day is finally here! Steeda has released the Watts Link! What is regarded by many suspension experts to be the "first and last" rear end suspension modification to the S197 Mustang, Steeda's piece delivers on all levels!

Watts Link Basics - The whole idea of the Steeda Watts Link is to help eliminate lateral movement of the rear suspension, while still allowing it to move through its natural suspension movement, and eliminating any bind. It does through through the clever engineering of lateral links, axis points, bushings and chassis bracing, which fully make up the linkage. These lateral are what give the Watts link the total advantage over any other Mustang rear suspension upgrades.

Evolution of Rear Suspension Design

First Evolution - OEM PANHARD BAR - Installing a factory panhard bar was a big step in the evolution of the Mustang. The 2005+ Mustangs introduced the panhard bar to the solid axle Mustang suspension. This helps control lateral axle movement and improve daily drivability.

Second Evolution - AFTERMARKET CONTROL ARMS AND PANHARD BARS - Many aftermarket companies have came up with great products to help improve the S197 OEM suspension. Many of these products work very well, such as aftermarket panhard upgrades, panhard braces, lower control arms, 3rd links, and control arm relocation brackets. These upgrades vastly improve rear end grip and handling performance.

Final Evolution - STEEDA WATTS LINKAGE - The Steeda Watts link is really the final step in the evolution of S197 suspension upgrades. The Watts Link provides the best lateral control of the rear axle and suspension. This link replaces the panhard bar setup with a more advanced system. The Watts linkage is for Mustang owners who demand the very best from their Mustang's suspension.

Product Details (Steeda Part #555-2525):

The Steeda Watt's Link is one of the most advanced rear suspension upgrades you can install on your new Mustang. This part is truly a step above anything else on the market today. The Steeda Watt's Link setup eliminates almost all unwanted lateral motion in the factory rear suspension setup. Eliminating the lateral movement of the axle will provide for a more stable and confidence inspiring feeling as your vehicle's suspension moves through its range of motion. This setup is not just a performance upgrade to the factory 4 link setup; it is a complete overhaul, an entire suspension geometry upgrade.

Although the concept of the watts link is not new, Steeda has set itself apart from the competition through innovation. On a Watt's Link equipped vehicle, the center pivot of the center link is the rear roll center. Steeda's Watts Linkage allows the center pivot to move up or down to adjust your roll center up or down. Further, the lateral links should be horizontal and the center link vertical with the vehicle at ride height. Steeda's Watts Linkage maintains this ideal geometry unlike the competition. When the links are not set up horizontal at ride height, there can be significant increases in scrub in one or both of the travel directions. In addition to the best performance, Steeda goes the extra mile to eliminate unwanted NVH with the use of polyurethane bushings.

If you require the absolute best rear end grip, the "on rails" suspension feel, and the highest performing Mustang possible, the Steeda Watts Link is the setup for you.
